Arriving in Cairns + Kurunda Rainforest and Village
On Tuesday mom and I FINALLY left for our 5-week vacation Down Under!!!
First we had to take the train to Brussels Airport where we took our first flight to Singapore.
After 13 hours we arrived there and 2 hours later we took our next flight to Cairns.
That 6,5 hour flight was a very bumpy one with lots of turbulence so I got shaken up a bit but it was fine though😉
After 24 hours of traveling we arrived at Cairns airport where our driver was waiting for us to take us to our hotel, which was only a 10-minute drive.
After we got checked in we quickly changed into our summer clothes (as we were wearing our winter sweaters as it's very cold in Belgium)
When we both got freshened up we went into town to have dinner.
Today we had a tour in Kuranda.
Our driver picked us up at 8.45 AM and dropped us off at the Kuranda Rainforest where we went on a safari tour.
Our guide Victor explained us all about the plants and the trees.
After that we had some time left so we got to see the other animals where I even got to take a picture next to a kangaroo
At the gift shop I bought a necklace with 2 earrings made of marine opals of the Ulysses butterfly Â
Our next stop was the Skyrail where we saw everything from above the sky before taking a walk to the waterfalls.
Our final stop for the day was in Kuranda Village where we had a few hours free time to get lunch (mini shrimp spring rolls) and do some shopping.
I couldn’t resist buying a new dress (gonna wear it next week) and some jewelry (2 bracelets) and finishing it off with some powder to make red velvet latte!!! We don’t have red velvet lattes in Belgium so I just HAD to buy it!!!
(Yesterday I had a red velvet cake for dessert at dinner because that’s my alltime favorite cake)
At 3PM our driver brought us back to our hotel where we rested a few hours before going out for dinner.
Tomorrow’s gonna be a very early and long day so we’re definitely going to bed on time tonight
